The Illinois MakerLab is the first 3D printing and digital making lab set up in a Business School and provides easy access to cutting edge technologies such as 3D printers, object scanners, and other tools for digital making. The access to 3D printing provides opportunities for students to actively learn by making new objects and helps teach students design thinking skills. The MakerLab was established in Feb 2013, in the College of Business at the University of Illinois, and employs the mission: “Learn, Make, and Share”. The lab has open hours every week and students from all majors have easy access to its 3D printers and other digital making equipment.
