By Shannon | Kids Creation Station
The Fashion Institute of Technology's Illustration Class of 2015 joined forces with Kid's Creation Station to create a whimsical re-imaging of the 7th avenue 28th street subway station. Aliens Underground: F.I.T Subway Re-Imagined answers the question posed by Prof. Dan Shefelman and Prof. John Nickle of how could the 28th street stop on the 1 train visually convey the thriving creativity at FIT and the surrounding neighborhoods? The answer: Aliens.
Mystical and extraterrestrial 3D Printed sculptures were created from extraordinary work and illustrations done by the graduates.
While the Illustration department does a thesis exhibition for their graduates every year, this exhibition, which opened on July 1st 2015, had a special 3D surprise produced by Kid's Creation Station.
From the eccentric caricature to the intricate details of each print, Aliens Underground: F.I.T Subway Re-Imagined is sure to capture your attention and get your creative juices flowing.
A huge thank you and congratulations to the graduates of FIT, as well as Professor Dan Shefelman and Professor John Nickle.
The Exhibition is currently open and will end August 31st, 2015 in the Pomerantz Center lobby, on 7th avenue West 28th street.
